About Us

In 2002, Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg created the Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation to build a world class waterfront park along the East River from Atlantic Avenue to Jay Street. The BBPDC is a subsidiary of the Empire State Development Corporation, and is governed by a Board of Directors. BBPDC staff work closely with members of the community and with the park’s planning and design team, led by the landscape architects Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.
